Cevians announced today that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Curtiss-Wright Controls Defense Solutions for the design and supply of high-performance active matrix liquid crystal display (AMLCDs) modules for use in Curtiss-Wright’s new series of multi-function video management systems. As a result of this agreement, Curtiss-Wright will offer the latest optical innovation in night vision and high resolution ruggedized display systems with screen sizes ranging from 7” to 21.5” diagonal.

Curtiss-Wright’s Skyquest™ Mission Display and Video Management System products offer a wide range of multi-function rugged LCD displays for rotary and fixed-wing aircraft with best-in-class performance and functionality that has proven to maximize mission effectiveness. Curtiss-Wright’s high definition displays are designed for use with FLIR and long-range daylight video cameras, moving maps, computers and radar. Curtiss-Wright’s avionics displays offer leading edge functionality including multiple video inputs, VGA inputs, picture-in-picture facility, video freeze frame, and digital zoom. The integration of the latest NVIS technologies and the optical stack-up allows for very high brightness, high contrast sunlight readable screens with minimized reflections. As an integral part of Curtiss-Wright’s video management systems the displays offer configurable touchscreen control, complemented by hard keys, to control how video streams from multiple sources are routed around the system to displays and other equipment such as downlinks. The on-display controls also allow remote operation of Curtiss-Wright’s recording and playback equipment.

Cevians earned its reputation as an industrial leader in the aerospace and defense markets by providing key optical elements, such as NVIS filtering technologies, EMI shielding, unique LED technologies, anti-reflection cover glass, and heater glass. With over 44 years of market presence, Cevians has developed in-depth understanding of aerospace and defense application requirements that naturally led to further integration of optical elements including the active elements. This agreement with Curtiss-Wright enables Cevians to better serve customers that are continuously looking to obtain high-performance displays and optical modules.

“Cevians is providing leading edge optical technologies that complement our leading display and video management technologies allowing us to continue to offer our customer the latest technological advances marrying advanced functionality with unsurpassed optical quality,” said Lynn Bamford, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Curtiss-Wright Controls Defense Solutions.

“Cevians is honored to partner with Curtiss-Wright Controls on this new product line. Curtiss Wright provides us with a global market reach and long-term support to our strategy,” said Eric Lemay, President, Cevians.
